The secondary school in Azena was established in September 2022 as a public school that provides free secondary education to students from socio-economically vulnerable families. The school now has 815 students, of whom 375 are girls. The school struggled with a severe shortage of electricity and digital infrastructure, which limited the quality of education and equal learning opportunities.

To tackle this challenge, the Wondem Foundation has realized the Digital Learning Centers for the Secondary School in Azena project. Within this project, 30 laptops, an LCD projector, 30 headphones, and a local network of computers and peripherals (LAN) have been installed. As a result, students and teachers have gained access to digital teaching materials, educational videos, and interactive presentations.

Thanks to the project, more than 800 students now have access to digital learning resources. The use of laptops encourages collaboration among students and supports modern teaching methods. In addition, the digital learning center provides a safe and flexible learning environment, enabling especially girls to better participate in education, even during evening classes.

With this investment, the school now has a sustainable digital infrastructure that enhances the quality of education and increases equal opportunities for all students.

Conclusion

The project has significantly strengthened the digital learning environment of the high school in Azena. Thanks to the implemented resources and infrastructure, students and teachers now have the necessary digital support to enable modern, digital, and interactive education. This all substantially contributes to reducing the educational gap for students from rural and socio-economically vulnerable communities.
